PaintNite (A different Mother’s Day gift)

A new and fun way to socialize and bond with the people around you…

A mosaic background with a bit of everything, but mostly green because I like green 🙂

I can’t believe I’ve been out of the loop for so long and I haven’t been to PaintNite until now. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s an event that’s hosted in more than 1,200 cities where people register to have a 3-4 hour painting session at a local pub/bar under the guidance of an Artist (some freelance, some professional). A canvas, paint, paint brush and apron are provided for you and the instructor takes you through the painting step by step which will eventually allow you to create your own work of Art.

Now, I know what your thinking “what if I don’t know how to paint”? Don’t worry, most people who participate have zero background in painting. What’s great is that this is more like “Painting for Dummies” as in the instructor truly makes things simple and non-technical. The best part is that everyone’s final work will turn out pretty decent, and you can take the painting home afterwards! Another fun aspect about this event is that the venue will always be at a bar/restaurants where you can have drinks and food at the same time. So image yourself sipping martini, chowing down on a drum stick while painting. I bet that’s  what the Renaissance artists did! XD Just don’t mistakenly dip your brush in your drink…I almost did that.

I think this is a great Mother’s Day activity to do together. It’s a great way to bond and it beats just eating. Plus I believe Art has a natural ability to uplift people because it helps us relax and appeals to aesthetics. And as we speak, I’ll be booking my second session…

Happy Mother’s Day in advance!!!
