It’s been scorching in Vancouver this weekend, with a high of close of 30 degrees celsius. Although it’s nice to get a sun break from the incessant rain we’ve been having, but the warm temperatures in the last 2 days is making me restless and unusually tired. I think it’s because my quality of sleep decreases if it’s too hot. I don’t feel like I’ve gotten any REM sleep in the past couple of days…
Anyways, I always stick to something loose and airy in hot weathers simply because it’s comfortable and breathable (because the last thing I want is sweat marks). An oversized tee or a baggy dress is the perfect fashion staple to combat the broiling heat and stagnant air. I love wearing sheer and chiffon-like materials because one, they are very light and feathery and two, they make an outfit dressier compared to a cotton tee. With this in mind, I conjured up this outfit revolving around a basic grey colored baggy dress from Oak + Fort, or I like to call it the neutral shop, because the store literally only has 3 shades of colors. Instead of belting it, a little trick I do to define the waist line is to tie a shirt around it. This adds an extra dimension to the outfit, but make sure you color coordinate it to give the right degree of accent to a neutral piece.
