Food Porn Vancouver-Part II

Part I was a blast! Brace yourself for part II…

Hope you liked the food porn photos from last time! Of course you did! My readership spiked after I posted part I so I figured the general consensus is food > fashion? What goes inside the stomach is more important than what you put on the outside I guess. Well whatever the case, embrace yourselves for episode II.

Mahony & Sons

What’s great about this one? Location, location, location. This place has a couple of branches but the one I always go to is the one next to Vancouver Convention Centre by the sea wall just before entrance to Stanely Park. The view is amazing! Food is awesome. I’m done talking.

Milestone

I use to really like this place until recently I discovered Cactus Club. It’s bar food so I think what’s more important is the ambience and the company. People typically grab drinks on a Friday night and watch Super bowl or hockey while drinking and socializing. I don’t drink nor do I watch sports…I just go for the food XD

Ebisu

One of the more popular Japanese restaurants. Their food is delicate at an affordable price.

Gyu Kaku

The grill it yourself Japanese restaurant! This place is insanely popular just because of how it’s set up. And of course the food is great. But the best part is that most of the dishes are raw (meat and veggies) so you do half of the cooking and all the eating. Cooking happens on the grill which you can control based on personal preferences. Then there are 3 dipping sauces you can use to add more flavouring.

Cactus Club

One of my favourite bar food restaurant (another one is JOEY). I always like to get their kale salad because I love salads and I love kale! I love the food as well, I think they have better tasting food than Rouge and Earls (two other similar styled restaurants). Oh yes, they also give big portions so I always end up really stuffed!

Tap & Barrel

I’ve only been their once. I think the location is worth more than anything. It’s right by the seawall near Vancouver Convention Centre, so there is lots of traffic and the view is very nice. I’m not particularly crazy about the food, I think it’s very similar to White Spot because they serve, for the most part burgers and fries.

NUBA

I recently discovered this Lebanese-styled restaurant and it’s absolutely lovely. The food is so fresh, healthy and delicious. Usually healthy and delicious don’t together but not in the case of NUBA. Even their vegetarian menu is very savoury. I ordered an eggplant stew while my friend ordered chicken skewers. It tastes just as good as it looks!

Sushi California

A very small Japanese restaurant that’s always crowded. Their most famous dish is the spicy tuna sashimi! I love it even though I sometimes get upset stomach after eating spicy food! The place is decently priced and has a great value. They have some unique sushi rolls as well for those who are more adventurous. But I alway stick to the good ole house salad and spicy tuna sashimi (both gives good bowel movement…sorry too much info! HEHE)
